Blackpool are keeping tabs on misfiring Sunderland striker Will Grigg ahead of a possible January loan swoop.

Grigg has been a major disappointment since signing from Wigan Athletic in the last January window, the 28-year-old striker has scored just three goals this season and just one in League One.

The Sun claim Blackpool boss – and former Black Cats manager Simon Grayson – is weighing up a loan move next month and keeping tabs on his situation.

The report states Blackpool would be interested if a deal could be agreed around his wages being split.

Grigg came off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Blackpool at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Phil Parkinson has previously spoken highly of Grigg, speaking in November he said: “We definitely won’t give up on him, we will keep working with him, I see his qualities in training, his calmness in finishing both with his feet and his head as well.”
