Hide AdScowen made over 100 appearances for QPR, and was also part of a Barnsley side that enjoyed a remarkable promotion from League One in the 2015/16 season, rising from the relegation places at christmas to a play-off win.
He joked that fans can expect to see a tenacious style.
He told safc.com: “I like to kick people! I don't mind leaving a few on.
“I'm comfortable on the ball, I like to try and play, I'm not going to be someone finishing off the move but I'll try and get it started.
“I'll put a few tackles in and get about the pitch.”

“I wasn't playing much really,” he said.
“I want to be playing football.

“No one wants to be sitting there doing nothing.
“As long as I can please the gaffer, hopefully he'll pick me and I can play a lot of games.”
Parkinson has made a number of enquiries about midfielders this month, but was eager to make sure he had the right fit for his style and system.
It’s something he discussed with Scowen, who says it will suit him.
