Newcastle United news: Alexander Isak’s stunning season has been recognised with double Premier League award nominations.

Here, we round-up all the latest stories that have emerged surrounding Newcastle United and beyond:

Newcastle United ‘eye’ move for Arsenal starlet

Newcastle United are continuing ways to bolster their youth ranks and are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal’s Amario Cozier-Duberry this summer. The 18-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to the north east.

Ajax, Borussia Dortmund and Anderlecht have also been touted as potential destinations for him should he decide to leave north London.

The 18-year-old has impressed for Arsenal’s Under-18’s side and has earned call-ups to Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad and earned a spot on the bench for their Champions League clash against Sevilla and Carabao Cup game against Brentford back in September. Although he is yet to feature for the senior side, he has a bright future in the game and was very impressive during Arsenal’s win over Newcastle United in the FA Youth Cup at St James’ Park last January.

Alexander Isak double Premier League nomination

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has been nominated for both the Premier League’s Player of the Season and the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season awards. Isak has scored 20 goals in just 24 league starts for the Magpies and trails just Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer in this season’s goalscoring charts.

Isak will face stiff competition for the awards, however, with both Haaland and Palmer also nominated for the award. Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka all also nominated for Player of the Season.

Isak, Foden, Saka, Palmer and Haaland have also all been nominated for the Young Player of the Season award. Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie and Arsenal defender William Saliba round off the seven-strong nominees list.

Newcastle United fans can vote for Isak to win both awards on the Premier League website with voting due to close at 12:00pm on May 13. Votes from supporters will be combined with those from a panel of football experts to decide the winner, who will be announced on May 18.
