Durham Alliance Combination League: Determined Oddies on course for championship success
The battle for the championship stayed tight as the Sunderland outfit drew 1-1 at rivals Redcar Town in a tense clash.
Stuart Poulter notched for Town, but sub Kevin Morton bagged a point for Oddies, whose star man was Mark Swindle.

Hide AdOn Monday night, Oddies stepped up their title push with a commanding performance and a 4-1 success at Wheatley Hill WMC. Michael Bulmer led the way, as he has done so often this season, bagging a hat-trick, with Paul Taylor also on target.
Oddies are in second place on 64 points, a point behind long-time leaders Durham City Reserves, who have only one match left while the Wearsiders have five to play.
Redcar Town are still in with a shout, a point behind Oddies but with only four matches to go.
Sherburn Village WMC squeezed home 3-2 at Bishop Auckland Reserves, thanks to goals from Dan Johnson, Steven Turnbull and Andrew Chester, with Dan Chester star man. Reed Molloy and Danny Wales replied.

Hide AdWheatley Hill WMC finished 6-3 winners at Blackhill & Ebchester, who enjoyed a Stephen Agnew treble.
Farringdon Detached showed no mercy as they handed out a 14-1 defeat to bottom club Seaham New Westlea. Brandon United Development won 6-3 at Wallsend Town.
Second-bottom Washington AFC were beaten 5-1 by visitors Killingworth YPC.
On Monday, Seaham New Westlea were sunk 3-0 at Killingworth YPC. Keeper Jordan Milburn shone, but was beaten by Gary Jones, Colin White and Rob McMahon.

Hide AdSherburn Village WMC endured a dismal 7-3 defeat at Wallsend Town. Danny Turnbull was star man as efforts from Glenn Hendrix, Garry Dodds and Jonathan Gott proved nowhere near enough.
On Wednesday, Farringdon Detached were beaten 3-0 at Killingworth YPC, while Coundon & Leeholme defeated Brandon United Development 2-0. Washington AFC succumbed 11-4 at Wallsend Town.
Meanwhile, Sunderland side Guide Post have withdrawn from the league, with only a handful of games to go.
