Trains and Metro service resumes on Sunderland line after damage to overhead wire repaired
No mainline trains were running between Sunderland and Newcastle and no Metro services between Pelaw and South Hylton on Sunday afternoon (October 4).
The outage had affected all Sunderland stations, as well as Metro services in South Tyneside at East Boldon, Fellgate and Brockley Whins stations, and mainline rail services from the Heworth interchange.
