Four men arrested following a fight in a Roker street which left one with head injuries

Officers attended Roker Avenue in Sunderland at around 6.45pm on Thursday, July 22 after it was reported that a group of men who were known to each other were fighting in the street.
Police attended the scene and discovered a man who was believed to have been involved in the incident with non-life threatening injuries to his head.

Hide AdOfficers have since arrested four men on suspicion of affray – three of them have been released on bail and the four male has been released under investigation.
Police have confirmed that inquires into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At about 6.45pm yesterday (Thursday) officers received a report of a disturbance on Roker Avenue, Sunderland.

“Officers attended the scene and later found a man believed to have been involved with non-life threatening injuries to his head. He was taken to hospital as a precaution but has since been discharged.
“Four men have since been arrested on suspicion of affray. Three of the males have since been released on bail and the fourth man released under investigation. Enquiries are ongoing.”
