Win a VIP table for four with food, cocktails and beers at Beach Box at The Palm
and live on Freeview channel 276
For punters it’s given them the chance to catch up with friends over drinks and for the hospitality industry it’s given many businesses the chance to get back on their feet after an incredibly challenging year.
Across Wearside, it’s seen dozens of businesses come up with new and inventive ways to utilise their outdoor spaces within the current restrictions.

We’ve teamed up with the venue to give away a VIP table for four next to the stage with street food, sharing cocktails, bubbly and beers.
You’ll be able to tuck into a new and expanded menu which has something for all palates, including burgers with creative toppings from the former Saucy Burger menu; Caribbean-inspired tongue ticklers in the Marley’s Kebabs & Tings section; Whole & Healthy which features less sinful dishes for those of us counting the post-Lockdown calories; whopping 20in pizza in the Dough Box section which are perfect for tearing and sharing; some real catches in the local seafood Fish Shack section; Filthy Fries piled high with everything from halloumi to slow short rib; Grillaz meat dishes and sweet treats such as a smores sharing box.

The Palm has always been well-known for its cocktails, priced from £7.50, and they’re still served in wacky receptacles al fresco, from the Jurassic Park served in a dinosaur head complete with sparklers to Buried Treasure served in a wooden chest.
For those who like their drinks a little less ostentatious there’s the usual can, bottle and draught options, such as Amstel, Birra Moretti and more and some local brews such as Tall Ship made down the road at Darwin Brewery and Wanderlust from Allendale. Prices come in at £4 for a bottle of Sol and £4.20 for a Heineken.
Wine and fizz lovers are also well catered for with a larger range of wines than was previously offered, from a dense rioja to a lighter pinot blush.
For those who don’t want to wait between drinks, you can order a self pour keg so you and your table can get through 10 litres of any draught at your leisure.
