Sunderland theatre's new show is a real treasure
Actors from Royalty Theatre, off Chester Road, are breathing new life into the Robert Louis Stevenson classic from March 21-26.
Adapted by Karen Louise Hebden, it tells the story of young Jim Hawkins, taken from a quiet country life and thrust into a swashbuckling world of pirates, mutiny and buried treasure.

Peter Kelly, director, said: “Following the recent successes of family-oriented shows such as A Christmas Carol and The Wizard of Oz, it was decided that another family favourite should be included in the current season.
“It’s a great Easter treat for the family, with action sequences, adventure and a great story.”
Performances of the play, which is being sponsored by Rowlands Accountants, begin at 7.30pm each night, with a matinee on March 26 at 2.30pm.
