Injured man taken to hospital following 'industrial incident' at Sunderland trading estate
An injured man was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital following the incident at a unit in Ellsmere Court, in Leechmere Industrial Estate, Sunderland.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 12pm on Wednesday, June 3. Witnesses say a number of fire engines, ambulances and incident response vehicles were in attendance.

Hide AdThe Great North Air Ambulance confirmed it was called to reports of an ‘industrial incident’ at 12.15pm, although the man was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital by road with what is believed to be ‘superficial leg injuries’.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman added: “We were called at 12.06pm to a patient injured on Ellesmere Court in Leechmere Industrial Estate.
“We dispatched two of our hazardous area response teams, two double crewed ambulances, a specialist paramedic and also requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
“A male patient was transported by road to Sunderland Royal Hospital.”

Hide AdTyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines to the scene at around 12.20pm on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesman for the brigade added: “A man had superficial leg injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.”
The Great North Air Ambulance was called at 12.15pm and arrived at the scene 15 minutes later with a doctor and two paramedics on board who provided assistance to the North East Ambulance Service before returning to base.
